V, X ou XL?
Rugged terrain
Well-liked for their simple adjustments, the ’V’ Covers are adapted for working on slopes in hilly terrain in upland regions.

The mechanical or hydraulic adjustment of the drawbar angle allows the Cover to be pulled in a ’V’ in line with the tractor axis.

The arrangement of the discs on the disc train gives the ’V’ Cover excellent penetration capacity. This makes it possible to work at higher speeds, with or without rollers.

The ’X’ Cover works perfectly on all types of soil except steep slopes.

The offset disc gangs ensure that it always stays in line with the tractor.

Combinable with a seed drill, it reduces your hectare costs by limiting the number of passes.

Wet conditions
The ’XL’ isn’t necessarily larger than the ’X’.

It combines the advantages of the ’’X’’ (apart from seed drill compatibility) and can be used at high speed.

With the central axle located between the disc gangs, you can work with or without rollers (just like the Cover ’’V’’), and even work in very wet conditions.

Cover is the ideal choice for distributing plants and fertilisers evenly.

It accelerates decomposition by mixing them with the surface layer which becomes more enriched.

Self-seeding
You can also use the Cover to create good conditions for weed emergence by promoting soil-seed contact.

After the weeds have grown, passing again with the Cover will destroy and bury them to re-enrich the soil.

Pest control
The Cover contributes to pest control (such as slugs, insects, etc.) by eradicating adults on the surface and eggs in the surface layer.

Your crop can then grow safely.

Soil warming
In order to germinate, soil must be at a specific temperature. The same is true for the humidity level. By mixing the surface layer, the Cover allows it to warm up in the sun.

By germinating quickly, plants have a reduced risk of withering.

To germinate, the seed must absorb a large quantity of water. To access water, there must be good contact between the seed and the soil. By breaking up clods, the Cover helps to improve soil-seed contact.

The seedling must also have access to light in order to begin photosynthesis. By loosening the soil, the Cover helps to create openings for its development.

Erosion control
Successive disc and roller passes restructure the soil. This also prevents the formation of crusting and allows water to penetrate the soil.

Mulch micro furrows limit erosion. The wind continually encounters these small obstacles and water evaporates less easily since the microfissures are never all exposed to full sunlight.

For over 20 years, Grégoire Besson has been known for the quality of its disc bearings.

Its compact, cast steel housing does not obstruct the passage of residues. This reduces clogging.

The braid and two outward facing seals form a triple barrier where excess grease can escape but dust and debris cannot enter. This intelligent system extends service life and reduces maintenance to a minimum.

Shaft rotation is highly stable thanks to double conical bearings. They provide good shaft strength and extend bearing life.

Bearing housings are recommended for very stony conditions.

Square-shaped shafts with a diameter of 40 or 50 mm drive all the discs at the same time. By advancing all together, the discs become unstoppable, especially when they meet a foreign body. Consistency is their strength.

The shafts, made of hardened steel, absorb shocks well and do not stretch when tightened. To make disc replacement more accessible, disc sets are tightened and locked at the ends.

The welded design and the choice of steel make our disc train seats the best on the market.

Roller with flanged, V-shaped and notched wheels. Its mass gives you a consolidation capability for excellent in-line finishes. It is well suited for self-seeding as it offers perfect soil-seed contact. It excels on dry, stony and cloddy soils.

The 3 rows of 16 mm diameter wire tines have excellent separating power between soil and roots for drying plants, especially perennials. To avoid any damage during manoeuvering, tines are retractable for reversing.
